Mr. Ferland earned both his BA and MA in education and has taught music for over 20 years. ln that time, his ensembles have earned many accolades. Selected highlights include a USSBA South Carolina State Marching Championship, a 2nd and 3rd place at the National Outback Bowl Festival in field show and parade, two 2nd place trophies at the National Peach Bowl Festival the concert band and jazz band and two Gold Place trophies at the Forum Music Festival in LA. Mr. Ferland has had numerous excellent and superior ratings with groups over the years. ln Las Vegas, he was assistant director at a high school band that was undefeated during his four years working on staff. Beginning his second year at Chimacum, Mr. Ferland was very proud to work with the Cowboy band as they received the 1st place sweepstakes award out of 26 bands at the Long Beach Loyalty Days Parade last year. As a performer, he was a member of both a 1st place Division 2 and a 3rd place Division 1 Drum Corps at the DCI World Championships.
